1. About ShireStay
ShireStay is a concierge-grade directory of holiday cottages and tourism experiences operated by Shire Services Group, registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZB744042. By using the platform you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Hosts, guests, local partners, and service trades each operate under distinct account types with different permissions and obligations described in your dashboard.
3. Bookings and payments
Bookings are contracts between the guest and the host. ShireStay facilitates payment via Stripe and, where opted-in, splits funds to host payout accounts. Cancellations and refunds follow the host's published policy. Service trades pay a £4 lead unlock fee per accepted job.
4. Host obligations
Hosts must keep compliance records (fire, gas, insurance) current in the Compliance Vault and honour advertised availability. Free, Pro (£19/mo) and Premium (£49/mo) subscription tiers set feature access and Flash Offer pricing.
5. ShireMart loyalty connection
ShireStay integrates with the ShireMart loyalty network using an OAuth 2.0 authorisation flow. When you choose "Sign in with ShireMart" or opt into loyalty rewards we:
- redirect you to ShireMart to authenticate — we never see your ShireMart password;
- receive a scoped access token used only to credit points, unlock trails, and read your loyalty balance;
- match or provision a ShireStay account by verified email address so you have a single sign-on identity;
- award points for eligible bookings (100 pts) and trail engagement (capped at 60 pts per day per merchant);
- let you disconnect at any time from your guest dashboard, which revokes the token and stops future syncs.
ShireMart operates under its own terms and privacy policy. Points balances, redemptions, and merchant rewards are governed by ShireMart.
6. Trail partners and service trades
Local partners join by invitation and earn ShireMart points for verified guest engagement. Service trades register their interest and are activated by ShireStay before receiving job leads.
7. Liability
ShireStay is not a party to booking contracts and is not liable for host-provided services. To the maximum extent permitted by UK law our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.
